Choose a circuit or point-to-point course, or record your own.

- An SD card for recording and persistent course/session data.
- Usable GPS and a course with valid directional gates.
Steps
Choose a course
Open COURSES. Select an offline factory template or an existing custom course. Startup and course selection do not automatically arm timing.
Record a route
Create a named course, choose circuit or point-to-point, then Start. Mark start/finish and set up to two split gates.
Finish and validate
From 0.8.0, a guarded return to start can finish a circuit recording and open review. FINISH is an explicit fallback; STOP always ends capture. Review and save are still required.
Drive the course
Arm explicitly. Cross the finite gate in the correct direction with usable GPS. Compare the signed live delta with your valid reference.
Recover the next lap (0.8.1+)
The default route corridor is 20 m; a brief excursion must persist before it invalidates a lap. After an invalid circuit lap, keep driving: good position continuity and a fresh forward start/finish crossing begin the next lap automatically. Invalid laps cannot update PBs. Point-to-point invalidations still require rearming; explicitly disarming stops the session.
Review and manage
Session shows laps, splits, validity and PBs. From 0.6.0, stopped custom courses can be renamed or deleted; factory templates are protected.
If an update is interrupted
Keep the original session folder. It contains your pre-update backup and the exact release. Reconnect the same Lappy and recover that update; a newer release will not replace the interrupted target.

No device appears
Try a known USB data cable, another USB port and a direct connection without a hub. Close other software using the serial port.
Permission was denied
Allow USB and local-folder access when prompted. If blocked previously, review this site’s browser permissions.
The backup cannot be saved
No device write is allowed until saved recovery files pass read-back. Choose a local writable folder with enough space.
The update was interrupted
Choose Recover update, select the original session directory and reconnect the same Lappy. Retry uses the exact retained package.
The screen remains dark
After Firmware verified, wait 30 seconds, unplug USB and turn Lappy on normally if needed. If it still cannot start, use the recovery guide and retain the original backup folder.
